This week on Agenda Fluid, Ben and Donovan invite their friend Samuel Lewis—a self-described “Christian without a gang”—to dive headfirst into the deep end of one of life’s big questions: Is organized religion still necessary in a world run by science, facts, and Wi-Fi?

What starts as a philosophical discussion quickly spirals into a passionate, punchy, and surprisingly funny exploration of faith, spirituality, organized religion, and why the phrase “thoughts and prayers” makes everyone’s eye twitch. Sam brings the perspective of someone who actually read the Bible (and not just cherry-picked memes about it), while Ben and Donovan represent Team Atheist, armed with skepticism and sarcasm in equal measure.

Expect a lot of back-and-forth, some surprising points of agreement, a few side quests into tattoos, Paul ruining everything, preacher trauma, and Gordon Ramsay being nicer than most churchgoers. Oh, and a genuine effort to understand each other rather than just yell on Twitter.

Did they answer the big question? No. Did they try really hard before running out of time? Also no. But they did agree that a part two is inevitable. Because when your agenda is fluid, sometimes the answers just have to wait.
